Developers can hook into the core files to extend ExpressionEngine's native functionality by using any of the hooks included in the core files.

There are 208 hooks for ExpressionEngine development. You can view this same list at the official landing page for the hooks in the EE developer docs. Viewing any hook's page will show every add-on known to use that hook.
