Tags

This is an extension to Wygwam using the new config hook. It adds support for linking to any channel entry (not just from the Pages module) Now free.

Requirements

Wygwam 2.2.2 or later
ExpressionEngine 2.3.0 or later

Installation:

To install Wygwam Entries, download & open the zip file.

  1. Copy system/expressionengine/third_party/wygwam_entries to your site’s system/expressionengine/third_party folder.
  2.
  3. In your EE admin go to addons->extensions and click enable.
  4.
  5. Click ‘settings’ and configure what channels you want to show up in wygwam, and the uri to use for each channel.

Settings:

Label.
This is the name of the dropdown in Wygwam’s ‘Link Type’ dropdown. Leave it as “Site Page” to replace the existing Link Type option, or change it to add a new option.

Channels.
Select the channels you want to be displayed in the Site Page dropdown.

Uri for each channel.
These fields set the uri to use for the link to each channels entries. By default it will be {channel_name}/{url_title}, but you probably want to change to something like: template_group/template/{url_title}.

Note: if an entry has a page_uri, that will be used instead of the defined channel uri.

Usage:

Once wygwam entries is installed & configured, on the publish page click the link button in your wygwam field and choose the ‘Site Page’(by default, this is configurable) option in the ‘Link Type’ dropdown, then select the channel entry you wish to link to from the Site Page dropdown.

By default wygwam fields overwrites the old Site Page option that only allows you to link to entries in the Pages Module. If you change the ‘Label’ in the wygwam entries settings to anything other than ‘Site Page’ it will add a new Link Type option of your chosen name and also have the original Site Page option as well.

This is just what I needed for a client. Works perfectly and lets them create links to entries easily and simply from within Wygwam.
