Tags

Drop down field that shows a list of pre-defined category groups and the categories within them. Updates automatically as you add categories to those groups.

Usage

  1. Add field to field group
  2. Add new entry and select category/categories
  3. In your templates use one of the following:
    • The field name (e.g. {news_categories}) which will display the category ID or a list of category IDs separated by pipes
    • If using multiple categories, you can also use a tag pair with {category_id} between the tags: 
      {news_categories}{category_id}{/news_categories}

Works great, but it doesn’t actually set the category of an entry.

Priceless add-on. Since EE can’t do plural member groups out the box this is perfect for assigning privileges between members & content. It’s also compatible with Matrix (custom development required). Can’t go without it.
