This extension simply adds four image types to the template preferences type drop-down: .jpg, .png, .gif, and .swf.
Not sure how useful this extension will be for others. However, we had the need for EE to serve a template as an image. Thank goodness the EE developers had the foresight to include a hook to add template types. There are four MIME types that are available upon installing this extension; .jpg, .png, .gif, .swf. Feel free to add or remove the MIME types within the module as you need within the “_settings” method. Perhaps, later I’ll add a settings page for this extension to add/remove MIME types within the CP.
Upload this extension in the third_party directory in your expressionengine folder, enable, and your done. Your templates will now have image types available under the “preferences” section.
Hope this helps someone in a similar situation I found myself in.
