Form errors results in previous field data being cleared

Hi,
How do I re-populate the values the user has entered to the form when using inline errors and an error occurs?  Right now data entered by the user from their previous attempts to submit the form is cleared if there is an error, forcing the user to start completely over.

Nevermind - I worked it out.  If anyone else needs to know, the value is just the field short_name, eg:

value=”{screenname}”
