I just went to pull a revision from my entries and realized that my wyvern fields are keeping the same data as they are currently holding. Does wyvern not hold revision data???? I need to reclaim some data. If wyvern does not perform with revisions, I am up a creek and will need to completely rebuild using another field type.

Wyvern doesn’t care about revisions. It just loads whatever data EE loads for that field id, e.g. field_id_12, and sends it to Wyvern. If revision data is not loaded it’s probably more of an EE issue than anything. Wyvern doesn’t have any caching built in either, so it isn’t loading from cache. What other add-ons do you have installed that might alter revision data?

Brian,
This doesn’t seem to be the case. All other fields and settings are performing just fine with the revision data.
All Matrix, Wygwam, P&T, etc. Even the status fields and other settings are performing properly. It is only the Wyvern data that does not respond to revision loads.

Brian,
Per the email I sent you, here is the information I can provide to replicate the issue.
The fields in question are contained in a matrix field.
I have attached an image of an example field.
Anytime I try to pull up an old revision, everything reverts back just fine, but the wyvern field does not revert at all. Does it not play well with Matrix?
Thanks,
Brian

What happens when that field is a textarea?

Ruh Roh Shaggy….
Looks like the Matrix field type is not keeping any of the revisions in that field.

So it doesn’t matter what fieldtype it is? Just that column isn’t saving revisions?

Correct. I just opened a ticket with Brandon over at P&T….
Sorry, I should have checked that before. I even created a fresh Matrix field and tried with new data.

Brian,
I opened up a thread with Brandon. I had no idea this was the case with Matrix. Thought I would share my findings with you. Thanks again for the assist.

Ah, yeah, that rings a bell now. There was a similar issue with Autosave too, which was even worse b/c it used to actually save data to Matrix’s table on an autosave, which pushed data live before you wanted it. I fixed that as a Reactor contribution, but didn’t dig into the revision side of it.
