New member creation with Custom Member Fields: RESOLVED

I have the member creation working but I can’t seem to get the custom member fields to populate via the REST. I have tried using both the field names as well as
http://my-domain.com/api/rest/create_member/json?auth[api_key]=xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx&data;[group_id]=8&data;[credits]=15&data;[guest_passes]=15&data;[password]=1xn1yoz6&data;[password_confirm]=1xn1yoz6&data;[screename]=Matt_Herbert&data;[username]=email@email.com&data;[email]=email@email.com

Everything works correctly except for the custom field “credits” and “guest_passes”. Any ideas?
