At the company I work for, we use EE (MSM) for a number of sites.
Sometimes the URL structure is /blog/YEAR/MONTH/url_title
example: /blog/2013/06/some_new_blog
Other times it’s based on a relationship… /editorial/YEAR/MONTH/url_title
Where the year and month come from another entry in a different channel.
Then we have /video/category_url/url_title
example: /video/some_category/some_video
Is this already an option, or would it be tough to add in?
Looking for a way to create URLs and store then sort of how WordPress works. It store the URL, then does some URL rewriting: http://something.com/wp/?page_id=1 becomes http://something.com/about-us

Entry date should be doable, but category gets tricky. What happens when you assign multiple categories? Relationship would also be tricky.

Well, currently. Only 1 category gets assigned. It’ll end up being changed in the future to actually mimic the blog type URL, but for now just uses categories. It’s truly awful how this is setup, and has been a headache ever since I took over our sites full time.

Right, one category gets assigned in your example, but how would categories work for people who have multiple category groups and assign multiple categories?

Good question. Not sure how that would work.

We just released version 1.2 which adds support for {month} {day} {year}. We will have to put categories and relationships on the back burner until we can figure out how it should work and if we receive additional requests for support for them.
