When I submit a story, I get this back:
Google was successfully notified about this entry An error was encountered while trying to notify Yahoo about this entry Bing was successfully notified about this entry Ask was successfully notified about this entry
I’m running EE 2.2.2, Sitemap 2.3.
I did submit the feed here: https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit
This is the feed.

Hi, Ben, we have EE 2.2.2 and sitemap 2.3.1 and get the “An error was encountered while trying to notify Yahoo about this entry” message. Was this fix implemented in 2.3.1?

I updated on my local site, and did a test entry to Draft status. I still get a notification that three search engines were notified about my entry (although no error). Does this message show regardless of the status of the entry? I looked in the sitemap after posting it and did not see it there, which is good. Curious if that message shows all the time or not.

ryan, you should see a Sitemap tab on the publish screen with a checkbox to ping search engines. by default it is checked when publishing a new entry and unchecked when editing an entry. does this clarify things a bit more?

Yes, that makes sense. I’ll remember to uncheck it when publishing new draft items, and then check it when I’m ready to publish something live.
