How can I have only 1 sitemap for all sites in my MSM?
My sites are setup like this:
mainsite.com
mainsite.com/site2/
mainsite.com/site3/
mainsite.com/site4/
They are all part of the same domain, and I would like it if all of them can be compiled into one sitemap.
Is this possible and what are best steps to do so?

No, it is not possible, but you can easily create a single sitemaps index file which points to each sitemap and then submit that to search engines.
