This has been mentioned before but unfortunately I can’t resolve it on my own.
Although I created the sitemap.xml file and uploaded to the root of my EE installation, I get this crossed-out message at the main screen of the module.
As other people mentioned, if I point the URL to the specific file I can see it and I also get the message:
Firefox: XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://domain.com/sitemap.xml
Line Number 1, Column 1:{exp:sitemap:get}
Safari: This page contains the following errors:
error on line 1 at column 1: Document is empty
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.
This is the first time I install the module and my EE version is 2.5.2.
Could you help with this?

you need to create an EE template of type XML, not a file…

Also having this issue, how do I create the template? From within the sitemap module?

no, just a regular EE template. and make sure the template type is set to XML.
