I am having a very similar problem. I have installed the module and extension (v2.5.1) and have been able to add a bunch of static locations without problem. The resulting XML sitemap looks correct:

http://thecarrotgroup.co.uk/site/sitemap

and has been submitted via Google Webmaster Tools.

However, I have also set a number of channels to be included and set their correct URLs, update frequencies and priorities, but none of these are appearing in the above sitemap. For example,

which should result in (as just one example of the many entries in this channel) the following entry in the sitemap:

http://thecarrotgroup.co.uk/training-course/web-project-essentials

Please can you advise why locations are appearing in the sitemap but not channels?

I have now realised why this was happening. I had not assigned a status group to the channels in question, so although they were “included” in the list in Sitemap settings, the status was “none”. Once I assigned my default status group to the channel, I was able to select “open” as the status in Sitemap settings and now the generated XML sitemap shows my chosen channel entries correctly.
