EE 2.10.2

I set the variable on an entry page.

{exp:session_variables:set name='trektitle' value='{title}'} 

I output the variable on the same template and it produces the proper value


Want to get the variable on a linked form page to populate a field

{exp:session_variables:get name='trektitle'} 

I just get a long number displayed not the value set.

Or else nothing at all

Or it outputs {title}


Is this compatible with 2.10.2?

it is compatible with your version of EE, you are just seeing a parse order issue. if you test a static string as the value then you should see it working fine.

try adding parse=“inward” to your outer exp:channel:entries tag, for example:

{exp:channel:entries parse="inward"}
