I just switched from XAMPP to WAMP and the issue is gone in all browsers, which might have to do with a different PHP version.
I can’t tell you how glad I am, that it’s finally working. Thanks for looking into it! :)

Hi. I have the same thing going on. Upload bar hangs and a js error is thrown out:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘0’ of null—photo_frame.js on line 661
if(typeof data.result[0] == "undefined" || typeof data.result == "string") {
errors = [PhotoFrame.Lang.unexpected_error];
}
Im on Mamp running php 5.5.10
If if downgrade to php 5.1.6 there is a php error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function json_encode() in /expressionengine/third_party/photo_frame/ft.photo_frame.php on line 1047
Now what?

To anyone else experiencing this issue: it seems like photo frame can’t handle certain jpg files, I have no clue as to why some jpg files work and some don’t. I just circumvent the problem by using png files, I never experience the problem with that file format.
