I have just downloaded Lamplighter Module and Accessory. As for now we aren’t using the Lamplighter service, I didn’t install the module.
The accessory reports that there is an update available in this circumstance. If I install the module, it reports that it is up to date (which of course it is, as I only downloaded the add-on 10 mins before).
Strange. Is this a bug? Am I OK to just install the module and not enter any API details? (My client would prefer not to see the “Update Available” message, but equally I’d rather not have unnecessary modules installed).
Lamplighter looks like a good service, and we may use it in the future. Does it monitor uptime? Could it monitor features like email sending continuing to work as intended - that would be a really useful feature, as occasionally I’ve had sites where email sending stops working, usually down to a hosting change.

I’m going to look into this now, to see if I can figure out why this might be happening. Installing the module without any API details shouldn’t cause any issues, so you should be ok there. As for the app itself, Lamplighter does indeed monitor uptime, though not email uptime.
