Jeremy,
I’d love some help troubleshooting image sizing as it relates to using the Fixed Width option.
I’ve got my nivo_cache folder placed in /images/nivo_cache with 777 permissions and good ownership settings, but no files are written. I’m using Assets for image management and images do display when I use the Responsive setting.

Hey Dave,
Sorry for the delayed response. The email notification got caught in my spam filter.
JW Nivo uses the internal EE/CI image manipulation library, so the first thing to check would be in the control panel: Admin > System Administration > Image Resizing Preferences. Check that the library selected in “Image Resizing Protocol” is available on your system. GD is usually a safe bet so try selecting it if it is not already selected.

I’m using GD2 and it seems to work with other system functions. Tried switching to GD and I’m still not seeing any images generated in the nivo_cache folder. Any other ideas?

Hey Dave,
I can only assume there is some sort of error occurring when attempting to save the image. Are you able to check the PHP error logs on the server to see if it holds an indication of the problem?

Thanks!
We were able to add some extra debugging to the add on to determine that it was an issue with the paths in the JW Nivo preferences.
Relatedly, I’d like to move those preferences into config.php.
Can you tell me the names of the variables I can use for JW Nivo’s “Path to image cache”, “URL to image cache” and “Use Assets for images”?

Great to hear you got it sorted.
Currently there isn’t any way to define the settings from a master config file. If I have some time this week I’ll update the add-on to allow for this.
