Can someone verify whether personalization is still not possible with v1.8 of FireMail ?
I’ve read through the forums and it seems that it’s not, but I just find it hard to believe, since personalization is normally such a standard feature in mailing applications.
Any reply or suggestion on how to achieve personalization would be appreciated.

can you please expand on what you mean by personalization? currently FireMail uses the native EE mailing list which limits it to collecting email address only…

+1 for personalization. I would like to be able to pull any member data I have stored, so it would need to loop through each member and create a unique email/member.

I’d love to use FireMail with SendGrid to be able to send a customized email to each member of a member group.
I’m thinking along the lines of a personalized monthly summary/digest containing teasers of entries on a given EE site. Members can pick and choose the categories they’re interested in and their digest is filtered to those categories (or other similar use cases).
Is that something that FireMail could do via the template parsing feature? If I pass the member_id to the template, couldn’t that generate a customized email for each member? Or does FireMail rely on parsing the template once, caching it and sending an identical copy to each recipient?
It seems SendGrid could handle the volume of separate, custom emails per member, but could FireMail (and the EE template engine) be designed to handle that, maybe by spreading the load over time?

no, unfortunately i had to devote time to other features and stability issues. there is no planned date for these as of now.

What would be a great start, is if we could include the Name of a Member in the emails - either from a Member Group or from a specified Channel.
Then at least we could say, “Dear Firstname Lastname….”
:-)
