I was just wondering if this module allows a user to “integrate” Facebook with their EE account or does it simply use Facebook authentication every time something related to Facebook is clicked (Like). Also, how does it pull up picture of the user from their Facebook account?

This module does not intergrate with your EE accounts. It is just an wrapper for the social plugins from Facebook.
Most of the data fetching is done by Facebook self, but for the Facebook profile pic I use a Facebook method to get the picture. You can read more about this on the developer site of Facebook.
