Extra empty paragraph tags being inserted [resolved]

At the end of every custom Expresso Field there are extra paragraph tags that only contain non-breaking space characters, and it’s ruining my layout a bit. Is there any way I can get rid of them?

i’m not quite sure why EE is adding the extra paragraph, but changing line 212 in ft.expresso.php to the following will prevent it from happening:
'text_format' => 'none',
i’ll add this in the next release

Actually there’s a slight problem. While that removed the extra p that appeared at the end, after I imported some entries using Datagrab, all the formatting was lost from those entries. When I changed back the text format to xhtml, it brought back the paragraph and other tags.
Is there any way to keep the text format as xhtml but remove the extra p being produced on other entries?

your best bet is probably to edit the entry and click on update. Expresso will ensure your data is xhtml and it should then render correctly.
