I’ve got Expresso working on a website and generally works fine, but when I try to view the Entry using the Preview modal, the text content in the editor disappears in the preview view and then is also missing back in the regular entry view when the preview modal is closed.

If I reload the page, the editor works again OK, and the content is still there, so it’s not affecting anything server side.

I’ve briefly looked in the HTML, and whilst there’s no obvious JS errors, the editor has an ID ‘cke_field_id_1’, on both the main editor and also the one in the modal, so is possibly causing a problem with more than one element with the same ID?

Not sure if this is a known issue or one with an easy fix?

(Running on EE 5.2.1 and Expresso 4.11)

Thanks for reporting this! I can confirm that this is indeed an issue and that we are working on a fix for the next release.

We just released version 5.3.0 which should address this issue. If it persists then please check the console for warnings or errors and also test with an entry that only has a single field to isolate the issue.

I have just noticed the same error on my EE 5.3.0 installation - running Expresso 5.3.1
I only have one Expresso field on my Entry.

The weird thing, is it works if I Preview the Entry while I’m already Editing the Entry. But if I hit the Preview icon, from the Channel Entries List, the Expresso toolbar doesn’t display.

Yes I can confirm that this is indeed happening when accessing the entry preview from the channel entries listing. We’ll look into a fix for this.
