When I click Image icon it just brings up the path to url (see screenshot)... Doesn’t have option to Upload. When i click Browse it brings up the EE modal that lists all previously uploaded images. It just lets me filter between File Directories I have set up.
Do I have to do something special to get Expresso to allow someone adding generic content to add an image to the expresso text where they upload new image from computer?

I’m using EE 3.5.1 by the way. Here’s screenshot of the modal when i click “browse”. I don’t see any “upload” button and I have at least 5 different directories set up

Hey folks, massive apologies for being absent here, we have not been receiving email notifications for new forum threads.
This is a UI issue with EE more than anything else. Because the filepicker allows uploading into all available directories, the upload button doesn’t appear (because it doesn’t know where you want the file to go). You have to select a directory from the dropdown in the modal first - then the Upload button appears.
You can see this in action by setting up a native File field set to allow all directories and using the filepicker generated by that field.

PutYourLightsOn,
Is it possible to force Expresso to only have access to a specified Upload Directory like we can with a standard ‘File’ field? This would solve this EE UI issue, but I’m not sure if it’s possible. Even if it were a site-wide setting rather than an individual field setting, that’d still be useful so users didn’t always have to select a directory first.
Another problem we have with Expresso is users not knowing how to resize images before they upload into a WYSIWYG block. I’d love to see a feature that checks to see if a specific image manipulation is setup and if it is, only uses that version for all images in a particular Expresso field instead of the original file (both in the edit mode and the output). I appreciate it might rely on the first suggestion, but these two features would be extremely useful. Are these something you would consider adding?
Thanks,
Justin

Thanks, we use Expresso in every EE project so we’d really appreciate it. I’m happy to help with beta testing too if you need it.
