I’m getting [object HTMLTextAreaElement] in place of the site root when trying to place a pdf file (as opposed to an image). Any idea why?

are you on the latest version 1.2 of Expresso? and is the upload destination set to accept all file types?

Yes, sorry, that would have been helpful to start with:

Expresso (MSM) 1.2.1
Yes, the upload destination is set to accept all file types.
