since you say you installed Expresso while in the midst of developing a site, i suspect you may have had some textarea fields that were being output by EE as xhtml and were therefore being displayed as expected on your site. however if you converted these fields to Expresso and set text_format to none, the text will be output as plaintext. the solid fix for this is to edit your update your entries that have the new Expresso fields.
Yes, this is exactly what happened. I’ll proceed then and hope you’re right.
Again, please be aware that the current downloadable version has text_format set to xhtml.
