Hi,
Trying to get the date with calendar pop out for user to choose the date for start and finish (2 fields). I am using this
<label>Tournament Date & Time *</label> <input type="text" name="event_start_date" id="event_start_date" value="{event_start_date}">
and have even tried this
<label>Tournament Date & Time *</label> {field:event_start_date}
and had no success. Since I am using Channel Form what should my template look like so a user can choose the date from a datepicker? Can you help me understand how this works in Channel Form? Thanks.

{field:event_start_date} should indeed work - but you’ll also need to be sure that you’ve already got jQuery loaded (in your page header, not your page footer), and that you don’t have include_assets=“no”.

What errors do you see in the javascript console? Can you post a link to where I can see this in action?

I believe you also helped me with the wizard function on an earlier date. Date field is on panel 3.

A few things - you have a javascript error on your page:
TypeError: undefined is not a function (evaluating '$( "#sortable" ).sortable({ containment: "parent" })')
That bit needs to go inside your:
$(document).ready(function(){
Also, since you’re loading jQuery in your page head, you should add include_jquery=“no” to your Channel Form tag.
Lastly, it doesn’t look like EEvent Helper’s javascript assets are loading, nor is {field:event_start_date} parsing. Are you sure the field name is right, and that it is indeed an EEvent Helper Date field?

On the sortable issue. I got that here—> Bring Matrix Data Editing to the Front-End. If you scroll down you see the js. I will see if I can get that sorted now then move on to the next issue.

I have the field named
{tour_date}
with the field type as Event Helper Date. I have no idea why this is not working.
<label>Tournament Date & Time *</label> {field:tour_date}

Looks like the field is parsing properly now, and the javascript is loading. But you still have javascript errors on the page, which are likely stopping the fieldtype javascript from firing.

I don’t know how to rewrite the other js. I will remove it and see if your field work.

Yes, that’s part of the fieldtype. It clears the contents of the field.
