Static cache working but sometimes files don’t show in CP

We keep getting an intermittent “problem” with CE Cache on an EE2 site.

We’re using the Static cache and it’s been working fine for some time. There are cache breaking rules set up and everything works.

However, from time to time, when we click into the static cache within the CP, we see a “folder” named “static”, but clicking into that shows nothing whereas normally we’d expect to see a list of cached folders and files.

It seems clearing the entire cache resolves this although I’m unable to confirm that right now.

There are no errors shown either in the CP or the Console (I’d suspected a JS problem).

Any ideas what might be happening?
