Long load times in the backend - Been There showing up in Firebug

Support Request

I am posting on this because I’m not really sure if this is my problem or not. But I was using “Been There” on my site, and then uninstalled it a few months ago.

But I’ve had horrible load times on the backend of things when publishing entries and I noticed this in Firebug under the Network tab. Ay idea why this is still showing up despite removing the Add-on? Could this be causing my slow load times in the backend when publishing?

Hi John,

Since Been There is a plugin, it shouldn’t affect anything on the backend (plugins can only be run from templates). Been There saves it’s data in a cookie, so it could be that that cookie is still around if you specified a expiration date very far in the future. Could you try and remove that particular cookie? (not sure about Firefox, but in Chrome you can remove specific values from a cookie…

Thanks, Wouter. I was just checking to make sure. I’m pretty sure it’s a cookie. I’m desperate to get this speed issue figured out - it’s the strangest thing. Usually this happens on the front end, not the back.

I appreciate your help. Do you know of anyone who specializes in analyzing situations like this and who could possibly help us?

Well, I could probably give you a hand with it. If you want you can send the server details to me at wouter [at] baseworks [dot] nl and I can give it a look. I know EE pretty well as I’ve digged through the code quite a lot.
