MultiField in a SAEF

Feature Request

Can MultiField be used in a SAEF, and if so, how would I go about doing that?

Any fieldtype can be used in a SAEF. However, currently MultiField won’t bootstrap its own CSS into the page, so you’d want to add the CSS styles for layout to your own stylesheet, one way or another.

MultiField doesn’t rely on any JS, so you shouldn’t have any trouble on that score.

Ahh, OK, and for passing into a Safecracker form (with the custom_fields) loop, what would I need to refer to the Multifield as when specifying it’s type (i.e. for Pixel and Tonic’s checkboxes it’s pt_checkboxes.)

Thanks in advance.

I haven’t tried it in a custom_fields loop, but the field type should be alt_multifield . In general, the fieldtype should be the same as the FILENAME only without ft. and .php on it. So for ft.alt_multifield.php , it should be alt_multifield.

GENERALLY you are better off, with custom field types, not using the custom_fields loop but rather calling the fields individually using the {field:fieldname} syntax.
