With this module I was trying to extend the Configurations of a site, specially for the clients. For example, if the client wants some option in the CMS to enable/disable a banner or to keep an email in one special place for easy access.

For now, it has two types of configuration. The simple one (just text) and the “Select” type. For text, you can add whatever text you want, for “select” type, you must select one of those options listing there.

To create a new configuration you must click on “New Config”. There you select the following fields:

-Name: The name of the configuration
-ShortName: The name that is going to be use for calling that configuration inside the templates.
-Config Type: The type of the configuration, it can be “text” or “select”.
-Configuration: This field is optional/required. If you select “text” type this field becomes optional, if you select “select” type, it becomes required. This field works with “select” type to make the options of that select. Each option has to be separated for a “|” symbol.

Now, in the templates, the way to use it is the following:

{ if "{ exp: site config="banner"}" == "yes" }

  I have to show the banner

{ /if }

In the “config” param, you must indicate the ShortName of the configuration when it was created.

And that’s all. With this Module you can create a group of configuration to let the Client of the final user of the CMS have more control on the site without need to create more weblogs just for a few configurations.
