Simply Order is a module for Expression Engine 2 that will easily allow users to customise entry order, via Drag&Drop;.

Please note: this add-on doesn’t work anymore on EE 2.6+ and at the moment I don’t have time to update it.

How to use

Download and put files following EE folder structure.

In your template use an embed to avoid variables parsing order: On the main template:
{embed=“template_group/.embedded_template” order=”{exp:simply_order:get}”}

on the embedded template:

{exp:channel:entries channel=“your_channel” fixed_order=”{embed:order}”}

That’s all! :)

The README file for this addon states that it does not work - in my opinion it should be removed from this site to prevent annoyance!

While this add-on sounds great, I found the interface clunky to use, completely lacking in documentation and pretty confusing. Once I figured it out I attempted to use it and got zero results. I managed to find another Add-on that costs a bit but does this way more efficiently and effectively.

Simply order is an excellent module . I used to select order to display main products on an ecommerce website (with EE2.2 and Cartthrob).
Really excellent for my client, with a shortcut him can really easily select product to display on the main section of each channel.
