Simple Registration simplifies the ExpressionEngine member registration process. It's a stand-alone registration form which you can output anywhere in your templates - so you don't need to edit the "member templates" to get a signup form (ie. the /member/register template). You can also select which elements that are required in the signup form, and you get the form code generated so it's all plug'n'play.

Note version 1.6.2 is the final version for EE3. Everything 1.6.3 and onwards is EE4.

I’ve used Simple Registration for some time now and it works, however there seems to be some inconsistencies between versions.
It just won’t return any form of Ajax response at the moment.

Contrary to what is stated, it did not work with EE4, and despite following the process for support, no support was given. Returned it and used “Zeal Smart Members” free, which worked great.

Are the parameters available from version 2 of this add on available in version 3? In the docs it seems like there are less parameters. Like “return” for instance.
