Perfect Add-on remove title and url_title !!!
NewMediaDrive.com 03.01.17
Stopped working for me too - it worked after I uninstalled it, deleted the folder, and installed the latest version. That’s in 2.11.6 - that said, I only used it to change the title char limit, so that’s the only setting I had to re-enter after reinstalling.

We using Title Control 2.9.1 with ExpressionEngine 2.9.2 - does exactly what it promises. No issues.

As per Jacob it’s stopped working, but was great before. Hopefully Max will do an update to work in the latest EE.
Jacob Graf 07.10.14
Worked great until 2.8 came along. No longer auto-populates the title field so I had to abandon it. My editors sure do miss it already. Hopefully Max will update it! :-)

Worked fantastically until I installed Publisher, now it no longer works as expected. Now my fields that were being used to generate the title are stripped down to their first character upon save. Not sure which addon is causing the issue because they work fine independantly.

As stated, doesn’t work with 2.8.1 at the moment. Please fix it. Someone please http://youtu.be/JYc05gZFly0

MX Title Control v2.8.8 does not work in EE 2.8.1. That being said, the add on works great in previous versions of EE. Hoping there’s an update for this soon, I’d love to contiune using it.

Did just what I needed. Thank you!

Pretty awesome. This should be a core feature of EE. Glad it’s available at such a low price.

This add-on has saved me the headache of having to teach my users how to write very specific titles, and saves my users a lot of UX unpleasantness. Took some fiddling to get it working with Playa, but it works! I’m now able to use Playa tags to write custom Titles automatically for each new entry.

This worked great for me in EE 2.7. But I had to play with the settings a little before I could lose the Title entry box.

Something wrong with your settings or a conflict have a place with some another Ext. (do u use Zenbu?). MX Title control was successfully tested with EE up to 2.7 (included).

I really want to use this addon, but I’ve tried this today on 2 different sites, but I haven’t been able to get it to work yet. All my “Titles” stay unchanged and I can’t see any obvious javascript errors. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or whether this extension isn’t working on EE2.6.1.

If you’re having issues with the title generation and statuses other then open, i.e. getting long url-ish looking titles. Replace status=“not TYTTOTYESIRACKO” on line 265 with the status you are actually using, like status=“open|closed”.

This is doing exactly what I needed - Thanks! But it gets a little goofy if you’re using Publish Layouts.

While I wish that the occasional lag in rendering the new titles didn’t exist, this is a must-have add-on for me.
Fred Carlsen 02.16.12
Perfect and free!
ShawnCBerg 02.07.12
Very easy to install and use. Was up and running with new titles in minutes! Thanks for developing such a great and useful add-on!
Scott deBurg 10.31.11
This is something I was wishing for for a long time.
The developer very responsive too.
Good job!

Wonderful litte add-on. Does exactly what it promises. I was looking for something like this to change the default ‘title’ into ‘name’ for a persons channel.

Another fantastic plugin by Max. Does a simple task, but does it quickly and easily. Really helps with clients who aren’t expecting to see the word “Title” next to a field. Sometimes being able to change it to Name, Heading, etc really helps.
