Simple EE2 only URL fieldtype checking the validity (syntax / headers) of the entered URL. WIll not submit the entry if there is a problem with the submitted URL.
Developed this for a resource section in a website. All submitted URLs had to be checked as much as possible before allowing the channel entry to be posted. This fieldtype does two things:
- Checks the validity of the URL syntax (REGEXP check)
- Checks the validity of the headers sent back by the server
Version 1.1: added support for non mandatory fields. Will validate URL if a value is entered by user. Will bypass tests if value left blank for any non mandatory field.
