Add-On Type(s)

Extension, Plugin

Easily configure how your SSL certificate is used in combination with EE. Supports HSTS.

While this extension will not install the SSL certificate for you, Force SSL makes your certificate configuration choices a snap. Do you want to protect form submissions (like passwords!) with SSL but nothing else? Do you want everyone to use SSL from the moment they log in? What about this new HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) standard? All you have to do is select your desired security level.

We have not had the time to properly support this addon lately, so it is being made available for free. Enjoy.

Beware - This extension white screened my EE 2.9 site. I had to go into the database to remove the tables it installed. I thought maybe it was conflicting with something so I installed it on a fresh test site. Same thing.

Doesn’t appear to support URL rewriting natively.  Therefore, if you force a particular page to be HTTPS other content (images, css, javascript, etc) is still unsecured leading to page load issues and browser warnings.
As for forcing or unforcing HTTPS on particular page(s), this addon works great.

Great addon that solves what can become an overly complex problem. Top notch support too, I requested the ability to force pages to http rather than https. He implemented it for me in around 24 hours, can’t beat that.

This plugin literally saved me when I needed a single entry to be SSL secured. That’s just one use, it’s so flexible, the sky is the limit. Had it uploaded, plugged in and working within seconds, it’s that easy..!!!!
