Tags

A dropdown fieldtype that shows/hides other fields on the publish page.

An ExpressionEngine add-on for hiding publish fields on a conditional basis. The Entry Type fieldtype creates a dropdown field which can hide other publish fields depending on the value chosen. The Entry Type extension allows you to hide specific publish fields depending on the entry’s status, Pages/Structure template, or Structure page depth.

Simple, but perfect! This should be a native fieldtype for EE. I have 5 different headers that my client can choose from. They are based on different Grid-fields with image and text etc.

It’‘s working with the latest version of EE (5.3.0).

Wish I’d searched for this a long time ago, this is hugely useful!

Wanted a Channel that provided a list of links to either a Category listing or an individual Entry. This add-on is perfect for providing a field to not just determine the type (via Radio, Select, or P&T Pill), but hide any other fieldtypes in the same group, too! It’s exactly what I needed.

It’s perfect for making variable content entries. A use I’ve made of it is to make a functional “Widgets” channel, in which each entry is a widget or block of content, and this field is used to select what class of widget it is by hiding and displaying appropriate fields. Genius!

Love this, how have I not known about this little gem all this time?  Works as expected, and just what I needed for my current project - Thanks so much!

I’ve used this fieldtype on a couple projects and love it. I’d count it as a favorite that I don’t get to use very much but when I do, it’s exactly what I need. Adds huge value to the edit form UX for a client.

This is a great add-on. It’s easy to use and just what I needed on this project. It lets you show and hide fields in your entry forms based on what you select in this entry type field. Kudos!

Thanks for the addon, using this to simulate Attribute Sets. However, it would be nice to port this to a custom field to save the selected entry type.

Works great. We were getting ready to build something similar when I found this.  The only thing that would make it better is to apply the settings when you’re editing an existing entry.

Rob, this is great!  I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this for some time now.

It looks like only one Entry Type field is supported right now, and it currently hides all other fields (not just those available in the dropdown).  That said, it is still a great start to a much needed add-on!
