Add-On Type(s)

Editor's Pick
Each month the devot:ee staff picks an add-on that's especially well thought out, well built, and useful. They're add-ons that we love and think you will too!

devot:ee Monitor was chosen in January 2014.

The devot:ee add-on keeps you up-to-date on what add-ons are out-of-date on your ExpressionEngine sites.

Monitor is no longer available for download! Please use Lamplighter instead (it’s free, and the experience is the same!)

Lamplighter is taking over for the devot:ee Monitor! Final version is 1.2.4. Monitor will only continue to work until end of June 2014.
For more information please read this blog post, or visit the Lamplighter add-on page.

A great free developer tool for use on any size ExpressionEngine site. View what is installed on your site at a glance, and see what add-ons need updating. You can view release notes, and click right over to to download updated versions.

devot:ee Monitor is cool, but imagine this…
Monitor all your ExpressionEngine sites and add-ons in ONE place with More info on the Lamplighter add-on page.

We’d love to make this one of the most useful add-ons you could install for your ExpressionEngine site. Suggestions and feature requests can either be emailed to or posted in the support forum.

Works great, looks beautiful.  Gotta agree with Micheal C. below - integrating this with DevDemon’s Updater would be a mammoth task requireing both developers to knock heads in a serious way but wow would that be the ultimate solution for EE admin management.  Great work by Masuga Design on this one

I might be biased, but I think this is one of the most useful add-ons ever made for EE. (Thanks to everyone for downloading and using it!)

Hopefully the developers with a “Version Info Unavailable” will understand how valuable and important this accessory is…

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: this add-on is simply BEGGING for seamless integration with DevDemon’s Updater, for one-click updating of all those free add-ons. Aside from that one aspect, I can’t imagine how this could be better… and It’s visually beautiful, to boot!

Invaluable extension, even with its missing pieces (apparently because some developers have not supplied info to This add-on saves me significant time with maintaining client sites.

I think this update is excellent, much neater and easier to use. Good job Ryan & co.

Great idea, initiative - still somewhat brain-dead. Constant false-positives on Playa and Matrix, fieldtypes, many plugins (gets the name/link right, still comes up as unknown). What we need is a user-flag to note mistakes in the site or plug-in link. Right now, still half-baked.

Some of these items have been addressed in the 1.1.0 release. We can’t do much about the unknown items unless developers get on board and help fill out the package names on their devot:ee entries. - ryan

Holy crap! Thanks for this one, guys. A much-needed add-on that’s going to save tons of time on pretty much every EE project.

Great accessory, definitely a time-saver. I’ve stripped some css though, mostly the background images to make it more fitting with other accessories, and have a little lesser dark background, but other than that awesome time-saver!

Great!  NEEDS ACCESSIBILITY CHANGES!  The screen fails a large percent of the color-blind and visually challenged when it is totally unecessary-

Incredibly useful. Installed on my base setup and it makes it so much quicker to see if I am good to go for a new site or not.

It’s not matching up all addons that are on devot-ee yet but it just got released today. I expect this to save me alot of time.
