Been There! can mark an entry as viewed for a user if he has viewed it. Much like a *NEW* marker in a product list.
Because the viewed entries are saved in a cookie on the user’s machine, it allows for a very personalised experience.
The downside of this approach is that if a user has his cookies disabled he won’t see anything. This add-on shouldn’t be used for system critical features, but more for ‘nice-to-haves’.

Wouter has created an excellent add-on that’s perfect for allowing you to mark certain entries as read (or not). This is a great feature for our site because we needed a way to show visitors which entries they’d already seen. Wouter’s support in helping me get it working was, as usual, fantastic!
