Create signed URLs for your PRIVATE Amazon S3 files. This means that you can share files with customers, members and the public AND put an expiry date on the URL without making your assets publicly available.
If you have documents, files and other assets in your Amazon S3 account that you want to share with a select group of people (or just one person) but don’t want to make these assets “public” you can do so with Amazon S3 Signed URLs.
You can also put an expiry time on the URL, which is convient for “limited time only” offers or access rights that expire.
Amazon S3 is one of the best tools to use for storing a lot of assets and using Amazon S3 Signed URLs in your EE installation allows you to avoid using the native EE file manager.
All signed URLs are saved in EE so that you can access / share them when you need to.
If you need to protect the url then it works well with Intoeetive’s Protected Links. Signed URLs can also be added as a cell in Matrix. No special integration or customisation is needed to work with these products.
Module is currently in early stage of development v0.1, so feedback is most welcome!
