Gone are the days of confusing configuration scripts, Word ’97-inspired UI, and markup that rivals the semantics of tables. Welcome to Wygwam.
A Strong Foundation in CKEditor 3
Wygwam fields are powered b.y CKEditor 3, the best WYSIWYG in town. It’s fast, accessible, and produces clean, semantic markup. It even features a “Paste from Word” dialog that’ll pry inline styles from your clients’ copy! Read more about what makes CKEditor so great at its Features page.
Browse and Upload Files
Assign one of your EE upload directories to a Wygwam field, and you’ll be able to browse and upload images, SWFs, and other files right from Wygwam, thanks to its built-in CKFinder integration.
Matrix Compatibility
Wygwam is the only WYSIWYG editor that integrates seamlessly with Matrix, allowing you to save multiple blocks of HTML within a single entry.
Easy to Customize
Wygwam 2.1 comes with a module where you can customize your Wygwam fields to your heart’s content. Create different toolbars by simply dragging toolgroups into place, give your fields their own CSS files, tie them to your EE upload directories, and easily access just about all of CKEditor’s config settings.

Having tried a few WYSIWYGs on various platforms, this one gets the doubel thumbs up.
All the features you’d expect, without being bloaty. Very customisable. Developers love it. Content writers love it.
Another P+T winner.

I am using the combination of Wygwam and Assets. This works perfectly and satisfies all my needs I have with a WYSIWYG-Editor. Also the look and feel is very friendly, handling is userfriendly. I also tried Wyvern but replaced it by Wygwam.
jp4biz 04.28.11
I like Wyvern better, publishers can delete images with Wygwam. With Wyvern they can’t plus it’s cleaner and integrates with the EE file manager (can use multiple dirs).
JCDerrick 10.15.10
In an idea world this add-on would be built into EE by default, but alas, it’s not. This add-on by Brandon Kelly is perfect for clients who want to edit their own text fields. Along with Matrix, I consider it a must for any website I build now.
Ryan Battles 09.22.10
I’ve tried to avoid it, I’ve tried to be a purist and teach my clients basic HTML…but at the end of the day, they want THIS. The CKeditor is one of the best on the market, and WYGWAM makes implementation and file upload integration seamless. The latest version is fully customizable. Worth it!

Incredible simple to install and configure. Works as advertised and will make the job of adding content so much easier.
Bransin 07.13.10
It’s truly a plugin play addon with EE2. I’ve never had an easier experience setting up and configuring a WYSIWYG. Brandon Kelly has done all hard work. So easy to work with a monkey can install this addon and configure it.
Ray Brown 05.11.10
Wygwam provides the slickest rich text editor experience available in EE, and does so while avoiding the bugs and glitches and meticulous config files that plague nearly all of its competitors. Make your clients happy. Buy this add-on.
Oxygen Smith 09.04.09
It’s incredibly easy to set up button configurations, and you modify what CSS options are available in the “Styles” by modifying a simple “default.js” file. Awesome!
