User brings EE member template functionality outside of those restricted templates, and brings with it a robust set of front end member management tools.

The User module’s primary purpose is to bring EE member template functionality outside of those restricted templates, and into regular EE templates. Imagine implementing very customizable and flexible member templates within minutes! Easily display other features in a users profile page such as their recent channel entries, photos, comments, favorites, and more!
This powerful and very flexible module is also capable of much more. It brings to the table a robust set of front end member management tools and adds much more flexibility to the way your member management behaves. Send an automated custom welcome email to users once their registration is complete, Register new members via the front end, set the email address to be the username for logging into your site, custom error pages… need we say more?!
Freedom is a good thing.

Agree with everyone here, after having to frustratingly hack through EE2’s built-in Member files, User has been indispensable.

User is one of my favorite add-ons for Expression Engine. An absolutely essential tool for customizing the member pages. Saves developers a lot of time and frustration. Shame this isn’t built into EE by default.

While I don’t think this module deserves five stars (very pricey for what can be hacked), it still remains a vital tool in the EE developer’s arsenal. If you don’t want to mess around in EE’s internals and want a simple way of administering your user templates, User is it.

Essential to be able to customise member pages and add essential functions to EE. Hope that EE 2.1 will address this (fingers crossed).

I do wish this was built-in functionality, but at any rate, this is extremely useful. User is very heavily relied upon here at devot:ee. The member pages would have been nearly impossible otherwise.

One of my favorite add-ons for ExpressionEngine. Takes member templates to a whole ‘nother level.

Clunk down the heavy chunk of change for this or go through member template hell?

Very useful add on!
