Great tool that works well when the uploads are of the prescribed EE formatting (the right folder structure in the ZIP). When it’s right, it’s fast and incredibly painless.. I’m convinced that 99% of bad reviews are because of server/permission issues on the install, and not the app.

DevDemon makes some terrific add-ons (like Channel Images) but beware of this one. I’ve spent quite a lot of time trying to get this going on a number of sites, and I’ve never gotten it to work. For an add-on that’s supposed to save time, not so good, at least for me.

Fantastic for addons but across 7-8 sites I’ve never been able to upgrade EE itself without a major fail.

False Sense of Security…No errors at any point but yet crashed my clients sites hard…was a disastrous result. Unfortunate

I love this module, so many hours saved! It’s a must-buy for all my sites.

This add on is so awesome. Updating was always the most annoying thing and now it’s literally a few clicks on 1 screen. THANK YOU.

Downloaded. Installed. Tried to update EE, and if failed with a fatal error. Save your $25.

This plugin has saved me so much time and has worked on updating EE itself (major time saver!), plus a whole load of other plugins. It’s easy to use and slick and should be part of the core code IMO. Great job, welldone DevDemon.

I used Updater to update a site from EE 2.5.3 to 2.7.2 and a forum from 3.1.9 to 3.1.13, plus some other extensions. Updater worked fine, saving me a lot of time.
A wrong setting in EE had the effect to prevent access to the forum after the update. DevDemon’s support in this case was excellent.

Holy moly! If you plan on doing more than one update of EE this is sooooo worth the price. It takes a couple of minutes to configure, and then update EE in about 45 sec. I LOVE IT!

Simply a wonderful add-on. I use this on EVERY site I build and recommend it to every EE developer I know. Follow the instructions, don’t go outside the EE best practices in how you set things up, and you’re golden.

In short, for Addons it worked almost always; for EE it worked never.

Was great updating the addon’s that it supported. But the reason I purchased was to update ExpressionEngine 2.5 to 2.6, which I haven’t been able to do successfully on any of my sites. All of which have standard setup and config. Support stopped replying to emails.

This is great when it works, but I’m seeing less than 50% success and support seems to have given up trying.  Fail.

This is the best the software . save time .  AWESOME!!

Bought it, tried it, came straight back for a developer licence!

Yes, this should be built-in EE functionality, but alas it’s not. Phenomenal time saver. Worked precisely as advertised. Long, tedious process reduced to a painless, automated few minutes. Absolute must-have for any EE install.

This is one of the must-have add-ons, and should be a default module in EE. Anyone can now keep the EE updated with few clicks, as easy to update as Craft CMS and WP CMS

This addon has become part of my standard build. The only drawback is that some addons don’t build their zip structure correctly so are unsupported.

This is awesome! Just saved me an hour of headaches. The best $15 spent this year. Should be standard built-in though.

Great when it eventually worked, but had to restore db and re-run several times due to issues, possibly to do with server configuration or permissions (double check these with your host).

Great! Was nervous the first time and still manually backed up, but it was flawless. Started it, checked some email, went back to check progress and it was already done!

AWESOME!! What a godsend. Would be nice to be able to drag and drop in the same way as Channel Images. I use this for installing all addons in a fresh install. Just brilliant.

This addon alone surely goes a long way in addressing the stagnation in basic functionality that people are beginning to resent about EE. And I like that it’s a paid yet inexpensive add-on subject to competition and is somebody’s baby. Well done, just… well done.

Outstanding!  What a big time saver!  I maintain 15+ sites and this has saved me hours and hours when updating EE software!

Brilliant add-on from a consistently top EE developer.  Brad’s support is A++++ We also need compatibility with nsm css override.  Hope Updater leads to consistent EE add-on wrapper standards. Highly recommended!

Seriously amazing!  This should be built into Expression Engine.

Simply brilliant. Even if you watched the preview video your jaw will still drop when you do your first EE upgrade. A dev license is a must have purchase!
