Swanify Category is a really simple FREE plugin that will return a category ID for a given category URL title.

This is a very simple plugin for ExpressionEngine 2.0 that allows you to get a category ID from a category URL, it’s so simple it’s FREE and will remain that way.

Example of use:

To get a category ID based on a URL segment:
{exp:swanify_category:get category_url=”{segment_2}”}

This plugin is really useful when working with Structure + Freebie to create dynamic category pages.
