Event Registration Import

Hi -
My client is currently using a custom EE e-commerce module for event registration. We are scoping out the possibility of switching to CartThrob + moreEvents.

Our big concern right now is migrating the existing event registrations from the custom system. How easy would it be to import existing event registrations from the current system? The current system would be able to export a list of registrations associated with a particular event (each event is a content entry).

There is no import facility built into moreEvents, so any sort of migration would involve manipulating your data and inserting it into the DB manually.  Also, events are handled as channel entries so you would need to create these for each event being imported, which could cause problems since you are dealing with native EE functionality.

All in all, not that easy I’m afraid.  Out of interest, how many registrations and events are talking about?
