Hi
I’m running EE1.6.8 with Google search results.
When I try to search for a term that I know doesn’t exist on my website, I get the following error >
—-
Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.
* Please contact the web site owners to inform them of this problem —
Please can you advise what the problem may be?
Thanks
Peter.

Hmm, haven’t encountered this before, but some searching around indicates it’s a problem with your browser handling gzip compression. Try a different browser to start, and then you can try disabling gzip compression in your EE settings. (Admin System Preferences Output and Debugging Preferences.)

Thanks for such a quick reply.
Yes, in Firefox 3.6, and Chrome 8.0.552.237 the problem occured.
I restarted Firefox and it’s now working.
Chrome threw up a
Error 330 (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED): Unknown error.
error message.
Just restarted Chrome, and strangely, everything is working as it should again.
Must have been a glitch on the server I guess?
Thanks again.
Peter.

Strange ... maybe something in the browser cache? Glad it’s sorted for now.

First time I’d seen it, so hopefully a one off.
Thanks for your help!
