Moving themes folder supported?

I’ve moved my themes folder properly I think as the move is working fine with other add-ons. However, I am unable to get Firemail to work with the moved themes folder, I still need to place the themes folder in the old themes/third_party location. I’m currently using Firemail 1.8.5.
Is moving the themes folder supported by Firemail? If not, do you plan on supporting this in the future. Moving the themes folder really saves time when updating EE.
