Pre-Sales: Can it automatically send email to mailing list recipients?

Is it possible for FireMail to be set up to automatically send emails to different mailing list recipients?  If so, is it also possible to set up criteria for it to pull new entries from a given time period dynamically?  Let me explain what I’m trying to accomplish…

I have a blog site that I would like the blog posts to be automatically sent to a mailing list.  I’d like to allow users to choose how often they want to receive the blog posts (immediately or weekly).  I would set up two different mailing lists depending on the frequency the user selected (immediately and weekly).  I’d also set up two different email templates so that the “immediate” template had the post title and full post content and would be mailed immediately after the Admin submitted a new blog entry.  Whereas the weekly template would contain all of the post titles with post summaries for entries that were submitted by Admin since the last weekly email went out (Monday - Sunday entries).

Thanks!

hi lori, FireMail does not send emails automatically and to be honest it sounds like you need a very customised solution so i don’t think it will have the functionality you need, sorry.

no problem, hopefully you’ll find another situation in which you can use firemail…

I’m sure I will.  Firemail looks great.  I love the idea of sending out emails based on templates.  Any possibility of adding the feature to automatically send out saved emails on a certain date?

yes i’ve considered it and may do so in future, the only issue is that scheduling tasks like that relies on cron jobs which have to be set up on the server manually.

I’d love this functionality as well.

Also from me a +1 for the option to schedule dispatching of mailings. Just used firemail for the first time, a really nice and neat little add-on which works like a treat.
