Hi, I’ve just purchased a copy of Firemail and have problem make it work
If I select not to import template and I fill some text in editor, the mail never arrive even if it said that it was sent OK.
I made a template group and I import the index of that group. In this case it works, I received the mail but now I don’t understand how the templates work in Firemail.
The content of the mail will be set in a channel entry using channel entries tags, or in the text editor that comes with Firemail? If the content is set from an entry, How do I know what entry to us for my mail? It’s possible to use the template for Mailing List?
Thanks

The matter is quite urgent for me, so please someone have a look and make me understand how the FireMail works.
Why it says that the mail was sent but I don’t received it? If I try EE Communicate I get the mail all the time.
I would like to use the Mailing List template for sending mails. Is that template the default for FireMail?
Thanks

hi, i’m finding it difficult to reply as there are so many questions here. let’s start with the first one. if you manually enter some text in the editor and send to yourself then the email does not arrive? have you checked your spam folder to ensure it hasn’t gone in there?
you can set up the template that you import however you want, to pull in one or multiple entries, it’s really up to you.

So, I try again:
If manually I enter some text in the editor and send to myself, the mail never arrive. The same if I choose to send to a Mailing List.
There is one Mailing List that uses a Template I made with full html tags. It works all the time using EE Communicate.
I made a Template Group, called Newsletter. From Settings I choose to use that Template Group with FireMail.
Then I compose a mail using as destination the Mailing List I have and I import the index of the Template Group Newsletter. In this case I receive the mail but the template I made in Template Group Newsletter will be embedded in the template I made for the Mailing List Group. It’s very strange, why only in this scenario I received the mail from fireMail and why it uses the both templates?
Thanks

it is strange, i just tested this on my server and didn’t have any issues. what number do you see next to “Total Number of Recipients” in the bottom when you select your mailing list? and did you double check your spam folder?
i can login to your cms and see if i find the problem if you want, just email me access details.

The Total Number of Recipients is the same with the number of members in Mailing List (in my case just one because the site is not online yet)
I double-checked the spam, nothing come.
However, I modified the template Newsletter and I keep just a container for text so it will be embedded where the {message_text} from Mailing List template is located.
I’m not sure if that is what my client expects from the script.
Thanks

Hi Ben,
the {message_text} is in the default Mailing List template. This way it works as long as in my defined template for Newsletter I just strip of any Html tag.
If I put the {message_text} in Newsletter template nothing happened, looks like it’s not been pursing.
In FireMail editor appears the {message_box} in place where the content of the mail will be, so I have to delete it anyway. If I’m doing something wrong that would be related with the Newsletter template i import in FireMail and probably more about that in documentation should be a good idea

It works as descriebed in post #5
Anyway, the documentation doesn’t say more about templates and how they work. If I choose to import a template in FireMail, that template will appear in editor. It’s that normal? I was expected that the template to be used in background once the mail is send and the content from the editor to replace the {message_text} tag in template. In other words the way the EE Communicate works. Do I’m missing something?

yes, that is the expected behaviour. if you import a template then it is imported into the editor, not used later on when the email is sent…
