Issue with file browser (can’t select image no thumbnails)

Hi,

Working on a client site running Expression Engine 2.2.2 and Firemail 1.7.4 All seems to work fine. Created a niche working template containing images stored in the uploads/firemail directory.

As soon as I select an image in the template (within Firemail) and select the image details the pop-up window appears. When I’m then hitting the Browse files on Server button it leads me straight to the uploads/firemail directory as supposed. So far so good.

Now I’m trying to select an image out of the sidebar left and nothing happens. The image thumbnail isn’t visible nor can I select the image to replace the previous selected. Uploads directory (and content) set tot 777.

Hi, I am having the same problem. I’m on EE 2.4 & Firemail 1.8. The default file uploads and thumbnails work in the native EE file manager. How can I troubleshoot further?

the original post is quite old. can you please describe what problem you specifically are having? a screenshot might also help…

Ah ok, when I try to upload an image via FireMail, the file does get uploaded, but doesn’t appear. Then I’ve to reload the file manager pane, and the file name appears in the side bar. When I clicking on the file name, the thumbnail doesn’t appear, only the default buttons. Clicking on Select doesn’t do anything, ie it’s not placed into FireMail. I’ve attached a screenshot.

I have MSM installed.

Hi,

This is funny.

Since I started the topic I finally solved the issue, but don’t remember how anymore.

Just upgrade the customer the other day to FF 1.8.1 and Expression Engine 2.5.2 and it stops working again. Same issue as described above. As soon as I start browsing the images they are visible in the side pane. But you can’t select them nor is the preview visible.

Please sent me your mail address so that I can give you direct access to the server.

Regards,

Rob

I found out that this is related to the installed PHP version on the server. If it is lower then 5.2 then this problem arises due to the lack of JSON support.
