The Select Entries plugin lets you easily display the contents of any MySQL database table. The table can either be in your EE database or any other database to which you have access.

Bring it all home

The Select Entries plugin displays rows from a table either within your ExpressionEngine MySQL database or any other MySQL database to which you have access. It helps integrate EE with other MySQL-based systems.

One possible use is when deciding how to approach the product catalog for e-commerce. Do you publish your catalog as EE entries or as entries in your e-commerce package, or both and synch them? This plugin might tip the balance towards keeping them in the e-commerce package only, as it lets EE display them more easily from over there.

Parameters such as orderby, sort and limit are available, and you can filter by any column. Variables include count and total_results.

The plugin costs $10 per EE install, works on both EE v1.x and v2.x, and is free to download (requires registration at Engaging.net) and try before you buy.

Integration Suite

If however you need to update and insert into MySQL tables, see the Update Entries and Insert Entries plugins. And if you need the functionality of all three plugins, the External Entries plugin wraps them into one at a discounted price.

This is not available as standalone addon. Functionality has now been rolled into the External Entries plugin.
