SafeCracker File is a simple file fieldtype. All it displays is a file input field, instead of the file manager. It also displays a thumbnail if there is a file present. You specify the file upload destination in the field settings. Use the single tag to display your image, which works just like the native file field. SafeCracker File is a standalone field, but is also included with SafeCracker.

Requires EE version 2.1.2.

A great field type that makes uploading images even easier in EE2. I actually prefer this add-on over the default upload tool. It comes included with Safecracker, which is a plus. Works great in Matrix fields as well. Excellent Add-On!

Great field type? It needs one more thing though; an ‘existing file’ option to select files that are already on the server.
