Channel Files is a straight forward, easy-to-use system for managing multiple files per entry in ExpressionEngine. The default installation of ExpressionEngine has little flexibility for managing several files in a single entry. Channel Files changes all that by allowing the end-user to upload, add a title, describe, edit categories, and order files all within the entry.
A group by category feature even allows the developer to display the files in groups per entry. The module allows you to control maximum upload size, limit extension types, manage categories, and choose weblogs to allow files. The module also removes the file from the server, so need for messy ftp cleanup.
NOTE: Channel Files will be available for EE 2.0. The name is given because of the future of the module. However, we are still waiting for EE to determine how they are handling publish tabs in EE 2.0 so at this point we are releasing it for 1.6.8 customers.

You can be too.
The name of this add-on in misleading. Channels are part of EE2, Weblogs are part of EE1. You ought to consider changing the name to more accurately represent compatibility.
